This week in the fabrication shop at D&B, we made a custom storage rack for bogie couplers.Our experienced boilermaker fabricated the frame from scratch all from materials kept in stock at D&B. Given a manufacturing process and the required drawings, he cut all the materials, fabricated the frame using a laser sight level for alignment and then welded out the frame with our cutting edge pulse MIG welding machine.
After welding, we painted the frame in “Safety Yellow” so that it would have rust protection and also a high visibility coating. We also adhered rubber liners on each of the racks to protect the parts as they are stored on the frame.
Another bright yellow example of D&B providing our customer a sustainable competitive advantage with fabrication and welding.
